An Expedition to East Greenland
This collection shows the journey of a scientific expedition I partook in the remote and rugged terrains of the Sermilik Fjord in East Greenland. Our day to day tasks including transporting specialised equipment across harsh landscapes to conducting measurements of the Mittivakkat glacier. The expedition lasted 3 and a half weeks, where the team members were cut off from the outside world, save the odd satellite SMS.
The Landscapes of Sermilik Fjord
This collection provides a glimpse into the barren and expansive landscapes that define the area around Sermilik Research Station and Mittivakkat Glacier. They show the magnitude of East Greenland's natural terrain, from wide-stretching ice fields to the sheer rock faces that delineate the horizon. Capturing the stark and massive scenery, these photographs serve as a humble record of the region's untouched beauty, reflecting the grand scale and serene stillness of one of Earth's least trodden places.
Life at Sermilik Station
This section offers a look at the everyday life at the Station. They depict the unique ways we found joy and solace in our remote setting—the satisfaction of a freshly caught fish, the perfection of a cairne, or the enjoying another spectacular Arctic sunset with a pipe and glass of whiskey. The photos reveal a side of expedition life rarely seen by outsiders: the quirky, the quiet, and the camaraderie that sustained us, far removed from any spectator's gaze.
